2017-2018 GIRLS BASKETBALL RESULTS

February 15, 2018
The girls basketball team defeated Gallia Academy in the first round of district play last evening by a final score of 46-35. Mailyn Sunkle led the Falcons with 17 points, and five rebounds. Evie Wolshire finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds and two blocks, and Kat Qualls contributed a total of 9 points, 9 rebounds and a game high 3 block shots. The Lady Falcons are back in action on Saturday at 1:00pm as they face Vinton County in the sectional championship at Logan high school.

February 11, 2018
The 7th grade Lady Falcons ended their season with a loss in the championship game Saturday to an undefeated Libery Union team. The 7th grade ended their season in second place with an overall record of 13-6.
February 10, 2018
The 8th grade girls defeated Teays Valley East 25-17 to win the MSL tournament championship. Hannah Rauch scored 12 and Claire Cooperider added 5. Their final record is 18-1.
February 9, 2018
On Saturday evening the Lady Falcons defeated Liberty Union by the final score of 41-33. The Falcons were led by Mailyn Sunkle with 12 points and 9 rebounds, Evie Wolshire also scored 12 points, and Kat Qualls also had 9 rebounds in the win. The Falcons next play in the district tournament that begins tomorrow at 8:00pm at Logan High School; as the 5th seeded Falcons will play 4th seeded Gallia Academy.

February 8, 2018
The 7th grade Lady Falcons beat Circleville in the semi finals last evening by the score 38-18. Nicole Terry and Kate Markwood led the Falcon offense while Jillian Bennett and Bella Neal played outstanding on the defensive end. They will travel to Amanda tomorrow morning to take on the undefeated Lions of Liberty Union.

The 8th grade girls defeated Liberty Union in the semifinals of the game their tournament. The final score was 27-13. They were lead in scoring by Hannah Rauch with 10 and Brenna Reed with 7. The championship will be Saturday against Teays Valley East.

The JV girls team has won their last two games,  beating Nelsonville York last Saturday 37-27.  The Lady Falcons were led by Marissa Malone with 15 points, Kayla Forsythe with 6 and Olivia Spillers with 6, including four for four from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.  

February 5, 2018
After a slow start, the 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated Teays Valley by the score 40-11. Nicole Terry led the Falcons with 11 points while Kate Markwood added 8. The girls advance to the semi-finals to take on the Tigers of Circleville Wednesday evening at Liberty Union.

February 3, 2018
The 8th grade girls defeated Amanda ins the first round of the tournament 40-15. Claire Cooperider lead scoring with 21 and Hannah Rauch added 9. They will play the winner of Liberty Union and Logan Elm on February 8th at 6:00 in Amanda.

January 31, 2018
The 7th grade Lady Falcons suffered their 5th loss of the season to Amanda Clearcreek last evening by the score 28-33. Leading the Falcons was Kate Markwood with 9 points while Nicole Terry added 8. The 7th grade will begin tournament play versus Teays Valley tomorrow at Liberty Union with a tip off at 12:30.

The 8th grade girls’ basketball team defeated Amanda 46-14 in their final regular season game and ended with a 13-1 record. Scoring was balanced with Hannah Rauch scoring 10, Olivia Carpenter added 8, McKaylee Webb with 7 and both Claire Cooperider and Alexis Cymanski scored 6.

The JV picked up an exciting win last night over Bloom Carroll 23-21.  Marissa Malone scored 9 and Kayla Forsythe scored 6 and Aniston Winegardner chipped in 4 points in the win.  The win moves the JV record to 11-6 and 8-3 in the league.   A trip to Amanda on Friday is next up for the Lady Falcons.  

January 29, 2018
The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated Teays Valley last evening by the score 32-16. Leading the Falcons was Nicole Terry with 10 points and 4 rebounds while Kate Markwood added 9 points in the contest.

The 8th grade girls defeated Teays Valley East 33-18 to improve their record to 14-1 with one game remaining at Amanda Thursday. Claire Cooperider had 11points, Hannah Rauch added 9 and Addison Sharp scored 6.

January 25, 2018
The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated the visiting Rangers last evening by the score 30-23. Pacing the Falcons to victory with 7 points and 6 rebounds was Nicole Terry. Carley Miller and Mimi Thomas each added 6 points while Claudia Rhymer dished out 3 assists.  They now stand 10-4 on the season. 

January 23, 2018
The girls basketball team defeated Hamilton Township last evening 50-19 in the first annual Coaches vs Cancer game. Mailyn Sunkle led the Falcons in scoring with a game high 13 points, followed by Katie Burke with 8. Coaches vs Cancer raised a total of $254.34 that will be donated to the American Cancer Society, and on behalf of the girls basketball program, thank you for all the support for this very important cause. The Falcons return to action on Saturday as they travel to Teays Valley with JV tip at 6:00, followed by the varsity game at 7:30.

The JV Lady Falcons defeated Hamilton Township 42-17 to improve their record to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the league.  The team used balanced scoring to wear down the Lady Rangers,  7 girls put points on the board.  Annaliese Hartman led all scorers with 12 points,  Olivia Spillers with 9 and Marissa Malone with 8 points.  The team travels to Teays Valley on Saturday for a key league match-up.   

January 22, 2018
The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated the Braves of Logan Elm last night by the score 38-7. Leading the Falcon offense was Kate Markwood with 9 points while Nicole Terry added 7 and Adrienne Harmon with 6 respectively.

Students and staff are invited to the Coaches vs. Cancer girl's basketball game this evening as our High School Lady Falcons take on the Rangers of Hamilton Township. Attendees are encouraged to wear PINK to show their support for all battling & surviving cancer patients.

The girls struggled to score but pulled out a 23-10 victory over Logan Elm. They were lead in scoring by Hannah Rauch with 10 and Claire Cooperider 9. They are 12-1 with 3 games remaining.

January 19, 2018
The Jv Lady Falcons dropped their second game in a row losing 29-25 to Logan Elm on Friday.   The Lady Braves keep the Falcons out of the paint for most of the game, that accompanied by poor perimeter shooting led to the Falcons demise.  The Falcons were led by Kate Dodson with 6 points, Kayla Forsythe with 5.  The Lady’s look to get back on track with Hamilton at home on Tuesday night 600pm.  

January 18, 2018
The 8th grade girls beat Bloom Carroll 48 to 15 at home Thursday night. They were led in scoring by Hannah Rauch with 14, Claire Cooperider with 12 and Brooke Holt & McKaylee Webb each added 5. The team is 11 - 1 with 4 games remaining.

The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated the visiting Bulldogs last evening by the score 31-17. Leading the Falcon offense was Kate Markwood with 8 points while Nicole Terry added 7 points in the contest.

January 11, 2018
The 7th grade Lady Falcons dropped a contest to an excellent Liberty Union team last evening. Pacing the Falcon offense was Nicole Terry with 6 points while 8 girls found their way into the score book. The Lady Falcons now stand 7-4 on the season and will host Bloom Carroll next Thursday.

The 8th grade girls battled Liberty Union to a 35 to 28 victory to become 10-1. They were led in scoring by Hannah Rauch with 20 points.

January 10, 2018
Over the winter break, our 7th grade Lady Falcons beat St. Mary by the score 47-16. Leading the Falcon offense was Claudia Rhymer and Bella Neal with 10 points while Morgan Martin and Mimi Thomas each added 9. Last evening, the Lady Falcons defeated the Tigers of Circleville by the score 34-25. Nicole Terry led the team with a game high 14 points. The Lady Falcons now stand 7-3 on the season.

The JV Lady Falcons upped their record to 9-3 with a 39-34 win over previous 1st place Liberty Union.  The win puts the Falcons in a three way tie for 1st place in the JV division with LU and AC.

The Falcons led for most of the game but allowed an LU come back in the fourth quarter.  Olivia Spillers scored 8 of her 13 points in the final frame to help seal the win.  The Lady Falcons also made 4-5 free throws in the final period.   Seven players scored for the Falcons :  Spillers 13,  Malone 7,  Hartman 7, Ruff and Greenman 4, and Forsythe and Dodson 2.

The Lady Falcons will play at home on Thursday versus Warren starting at 6:00pm.  

January 9, 2018
The 8th grade girls defeated Circleville Tuesday night on the road. Hannah Rauch had 8 points and Olivia Carpenter added 6 in the 31-12 victory. They improved their record to 9-1. They play Liberty Union next at home Thursday night. 

January 8, 2018
The JV girls basketball team has been  busy over the winter break,  the team has improved their record to 8-3 with wins over Morgan 38-37, Jackson 32-16 and Circleville 39-31.  The team also suffered their first league loss to Amanda 29-20.  The team will finish out the first round of league play Tuesday against Liberty Union.

January 4, 2018
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team defeated St. Mary’s 41 to 13 to take their record to 8 - 1 going into the second half of league play.  They were lead in scoring by Claire Cooperider with 14 and Hannah Rauch with 13.

December 21, 2017
The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated the Aces from Amanda Clearcreek last evening by the score 39-10. Kate Markwood led the team with 13 points, Claudia Rhymer added 9 and Nicole Terry chipped in with 8 points. The 7th grade team is now 5-3 overall.

The 8th grade girls defeated Amanda 33-13 at home to take their record to 7-1 at the midpoint. They were lead in scoring by Brooke Holt with 9 and Claire Cooperider with 6.

December 18, 2017
The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated visiting Teays Valley last evening by the score 44-30. Ten ladies made it in the scoring column with Carley Miller leading the Falcons with 10 and Kate Markwood adding 8 in the win.

The 8th grade girls lost to Teays Valley East 37-47 last night to go 6-1. Claire Cooperider had 17 and Addison Sharp had 8. They play Amanda at home Thursday night to wrap up the first half of their season.

December 16, 2017
The 7th grade Lady Falcons dropped a contest this past Saturday to Thomas Ewing by the score 33-37. Carley Miller led all scorers with 9 points while Nicole Terry and Kate Markwood added 6 each.

The Fairfield Union 8th grade girls’ basketball team survived a late run by Lancaster Ewing to win 22-20 Saturday. They were lead in scoring by Claire Cooperider with 7 points. Wolfe, Rauch and Sharp each had 4 points. Their record  is 6-0 with Teays Valley East coming to their gym Monday night for a league battle.

The JV Lady Falcons used balanced scoring and and strong rebounding to pull away from the Lady Vikings on Saturday night, winning 40-30.  Olivia Spillers led the team with 12 points, Kayla Forsythe 10 points.   

December 14, 2017
The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated the Lady Rangers of Hamilton Township by the score 35-26. Leading the Falcon offense was Mimi Thomas with 11 points and Carley Miller adding 8 points. The Lady Falcons will host Thomas Ewing tomorrow morning with a tip off time of 10AM.

The 8th grade girls basketball team won 50-2 at Hamilton Twp.  High scorers were:

Claire Cooperider 14
McKaylee Webb 8
Brooke Holt and Addison Sharp 6

5-0, The team will play Ewing at home Saturday morning.

December 12, 2017
The JV Lady Falcons ran their record to 4-1 with a 53-20 win over Hamilton Township last night.  It was big night in the scoring column as 8 different girls put the ball in the basket.  The team made a season high 6 three point goals.  Gabby Greenman paced the Lady Falcons with 13 points, followed by Olivia Spillers with 11.  Aniston Winegardner had 6 points and Tatum Campbell added 5.   The next game for the Lady Falcons is Saturday against Teays Valley.  6pm start.

Girls varsity basketball defeated Hamilton Township 81-14. Leading scorer’s were Evie Wolshire, with a career high 21, followed by Mailyn Sunkle with 20, and Marisa Malone with 10. Next game is on Saturday evening at home against Teays Valley.

The JV Lady Falcons doubled up on the Logan Elm Lady Braves 44-22 to earn their third win of the young season.  Nine different Falcons scored, led by Olivia Spillers with 13 points and Marissa Malone with 9.  Allie Baker, Kayla Forsythe and Brittany Duvall each added 4 points.  The Lady Falcons are back in action on Tuesday at Hamilton Township and then back home on Saturday the 16th versus Teays Valley.

The 8th grade team is now 3-0.

The 7th grade Lady Falcons lost a close game last evening to the Bulldogs by the score 19-20. Nicole Terry led the Falcon offense with 12 points while Carley Miller added 5 in the effort. The Lady Falcons will take on the Braves of Logan Elm this Monday.

The 7th grade Lady Falcons suffered their first loss of the season last evening to Liberty Union. Kate Markwood led the Falcon offense while Morgan Martin and Addie Harmon grabbed 5 rebounds a piece. The 7th and 8th grade Lady Falcons will travel to Bloom Carroll this Thursday.

On Saturday the JV Lady Falcons opened league play with a 37 - 31 victory over Bloom Carroll.  The Lady Falcons jumped out to a 18-7 first quarter lead and never looked back.  Seven different Falcon players posted points in the scoring column,  Marisa Malone paced the Falcons with 17 points, Isabel Ruff and Kayla Forsythe each added 5 points.

The Lady Falcons are back in action on Friday Dec. 8 at home vs Logan Elm. 

November 30, 2017
The 7th grade Lady Falcons defeated the Lady Tigers of Circleville last evening by the score 34-25. Leading the Falcon offense was Kate Markwood with 9 points and Nicole Terry with 7 points. Mimi Thomas grabbed 8 rebounds in the contest. The Lady Falcons will travel to Liberty Union on Monday for a 5:00 tip off.

The JV Lady Falcons dropped a physical contest to visiting Big Walnut.  Trailing by 9 at the half the Lady Falcons just could not get things going in the right direction.   Marisa Malone the Falcons with 14 points, Olivia Spillers added 7 and Brittany Devall chipped in 6 points.  The teams record stands at 1-1 early in the season. 

November 26, 2017
The JV Lady Falcons open the season in dramatic fashion fighting back being down double digits at two different times in the second half, to earn a 51-47 win over Warren Lady Warriors. The Falcons out scored the the Lady Warriors 23 to 8 in the fourth quarter. Marisa Malone led all scorers with 23 points followed by Olivia Spillers with 16 points. The Lady Falcons will take on Big Walnut at home on Wednesday with tip-off at 6:00pm
